Rimmel London Match Perfection || Review
I think I have fallen in love.
I don't say this about many products, my love is something that has to be earned through hours of use and wear. It's a gradual process, based mainly on trust. Trust that this product will actually work for me. However, occasionally, just very occasionally, there comes along a product where it's love at first sight. Or, well, first try. It happened with the Roller Lash, and it's happening again here. Thank you to the gods at Rimmel London for bringing me this amazing foundation.
The Match Perfection foundation is nothing new to the market, but it's something I've been curious about for a long while. Being a very pale, cool skinned gal, I very much struggle to find foundations that aren't too orange, or too obvious on my skin. I'm lucky that my skin is generally pretty clear, so I'm not fussed about the coverage, I just want something that will blend well, and sit nicely on my skin without being too obvious. So, when I was perusing the aisles of Boots the other day (not that that's my favourite pastime or anything) I stumbled across the Rimmel London stand, and stood for ages comparing and looking at this foundation, and the Wake Me Up. Luckily for me, Match Perfection was on sale at £4.99 (usually £6.99), so of course that ended up being a no brainer. My main concern with foundations like the Match Perfection is that my skin is too oily for them, and I'll just look like I've dunked my face in a bowl of olive oil, but thankfully that was nothing to be worried about.
I picked it up in the lightest shade they had in store, which happened to be 010 Light Porcelain, but it's available in 10 shades ranging from Ivory, through to Classic Beige, and ending with a Bronze shade. With this foundation, Rimmel London promise you 'flawless, traceless coverage in any light, by using their Advanced Smart-Tone Technology, and enhanced with Sapphire Radiance for an illuminating glow that lasts all day'. Basically, they seem to be promising you the earth, and sadly a lot of the time when a product promises so much, it rarely delivers.
However, luckily, Rimmel London really do seem to have cracked the flawless coverage barrier, at least for someone with awkward skin like myself. The formula is light, and very liquidy, but extremely easy to apply. I just use a Real Techniques buffing brush, and smear it all over my face and bam! Radiant skin, covered imperfections, and no orange streaky lines at the edge! That's what I call a result. And, for the first time for me when using a liquid foundation, I only have to powder my T-zone instead of my whole face as the 'radiant glow' part looks really pretty instead of really slimey. The coverage is good, I would say medium but buildable, and I am just very, very impressed with this foundation. Thank you to you, Rimmel London. I will definitely come back again. Who knows, I might branch out and give the Wake Me Up a go!
Looks like this on ma face
Have you got any experience with the Match Perfection, good or bad? Let me know! And also, if you do like/don't like the Wake Me Up, also let me know and I'll either try it/give it a miss.
